It's Not Easy To Say GOODBYE

快乐的时光总是过得特别快!Now it's time to say BYE BYE. *sob*

As Clement had to attend a function this evening, I brought Jaimie and joined the group at Long Beach Seafood Restaurant (thanks Bernard, for the lift) for the farewell dinner. Clement would meet us at the airport after his function.

Elo and Ced tried to stay cheerful but we could tell that they were just trying to distract themselves from the fact that we were parting soon.

They took out the book which we scribbled on yesterday and asked us to scribble more words. We took their camera and secretly recorded a personal farewell message each. Imagine the surprise when they check their camera!!! :D

As usual, we had a lot of food on the table. I was very busy looking after Jaimie, feeding her and eating my own dinner. Hence I did not manage to take a lot of pictures.

When we were at the departure gate, we were all busy saying goodbyes that we forgot to take pictures!!!! Ced was trying very hard to hold back his tears while Elo was crying and crying. We hugged one another and promised to visit them in France in 2011. Anyway, I gave my necklace which I was wearing to Elo as a farewell gift...
Only when they were about to step into the departure gate, I quickly fished out my camera and snapped some last pictures. Elo (who was carrying a backpack) was still wiping her tears as she walked to the gate.

We waved and waved and waved until we could not see them anymore.

Our next meeting -- 2011. France. Meanwhile, take good care, my dearest friends!!

It's not easy to say goodbye!!!!

Let's Drink and Be Merry

Ced and Elo are leaving tonight. Before I meet them for dinner and send them off (SAD!!!!!!!!), let me blog about our gathering last night. Since Pam and Terry are hosting them, we went over to their place after work.

We took turns to scribble on their book about the cultures in Singapore.
As usual, we had loads of fun.
For the past 3 weeks, we have been showing Ced and Elo the colourful cultures in Singapore. On their last night stay in Spore, they decided to get all of us at Terry's place and share with us wine and cheese appreciation. They bought some red wine (and some white ones, I heard, but it was too late to do the white wine) and taught us how to choose good and cheap wine by reading the labels. I was busy taking pictures and was not paying attention. I only managed to get some key words like "2004 is good", "2007 no good", "good wine need not be expensive", "expensive wine may not be good".

Then we had a cheese fondue. The taste of cheese was so strong that I couldn't take it, just like Ced and Elo thought durians smell like cow dung, literally.
The cheese fondue was a mixture of 3 types of cheese and wine. We were to dip our bread into the cheese. Whoever drops the bread into the pot will have to be dunk into the swimming pool!!!
Then, suddenly, everybody started to sing Happy Birthday to Clement and Elo brought out a chocolate moouse which she made for him. His birthday present from Ced and Elo - a Wii game!!!

Ced was made to do a speech which he tried to avoid because he could hardly control his tears. So he tried to monkey around. Anyway, we had a toast to our wonderful friendship.
It was a short gathering as most of us have to work today. The children were tired too and we left at 10.30pm.
Happy times just flew past so quickly. I cannot believe that 3 weeks had passed! It seems like yesterday when we were very excitedly waiting for Ced and Elo to come to Spore. Ahhhhhh~~~!!

Bento #56

Ultra-ultra healthy breakfast and lunch.

The unhealthy ang-ku-kwehs which were meant for breakfast were not in the picture because I was reheating them.
Menu for breakfast- 2 bananas and 2 ang-ku-kwehs plus a cup of Lady Grey tea. ( I think Lady Grey is as nice as Earl Grey tea!)
Menu for morning snack- green salad vegetables and honey cherry tomatoes.
Menu for lunch- brown rice with furikake, boiled carrots and broccoli.
WAH~~~~~~~~ SO HEALTHY, hor!!!!
The reasons behind such health consciousness? hmmmm... just don't ask how much CNY goodies went into my mouth every night. LATE night somemore.

Happy Birthday, My Dear

Happy Birthday, my Dear! No, not you, Jae. It's daddy's birthday.

We had a little cake last night because I knew we'll be too full to stuff anymore food into our mouth after a family dinner with Clement's parents at a restuarant to celebrate his birthday today.
I took an hour's time off and went out to have lunch with him at Swensen's (we are suckers for the free ice cream). He was wearing his birthday gift from me on his wrist... a Tag Heuer watch!!! *ouch~~*

Wishing you good health and happiness, dear. Happy Birthday!! :)

The Beach Babies

Bento #54

After the weekend beach outing, both Jaimie and Clement were extremely tired and they slept early. Jaimie didn't even take her usual beer milk before she went to bed last night. I was tired too but too excited to fall asleep. My head didn't touch the pillow till 12.40am this morning.

At 4.50am, Jaimie woke me up and requested for milk.

4.50am... should I go back to sleep or not????

If no, I will need to survive on less than 5 hours of sleep today.

If yes, then I will risk oversleeping!

ARRGGHHH!!! Help!!!

Anyway, I chose to wake up and do my bentos leisurely.

This morningI discovered something.... I need to "saw" the bread and not "cut" the bread with my usual kitchen knife so that the edge of the bread does not get compressed. It took me so long to realise it! =_=
