Cycling @ ECP

Our friend Nic bought 2 pairs of skating shoes and he asked if we were keen to join them at ECP on Saturday morning. Well, when it comes to gatherings and outings, we seldom turn down invitations unless we really cannot make it. :) So on this breezy and cloudy Saturday morning, we were at East Coast Park and Jaimie had her first experience in riding a "real" bicycle.

Jaimie tried out the back-paddle brake bicycle and she seemed to be able to manage so we rented this pink bike for an hour.

We had to help Jaimie by guiding her and pushing her a little because the Jaimie always back paddled a little after a few forward movement. She was not so good at steering partly because she kept looking down at the paddles. Both Clement and my backs almost broke from bending and helping her with the bicycle.

Ayden brought his scooter. Jaimie was not keen to try it.

The bicycle was a little frustrating as it kept braking "on its own".

I am glad that Jaimie tried for at least half an hour although she hopped on and off. She managed to cycle for a while before she complained that she was tired.
On the other side of the track, Nic was learning to roller skate.

Clement tried on the skates too. Err.. he wasn't dancing.

We hung out at the beach for another 15mins before we went for lunch.

This is the 2nd time we went cycling at ECP. I hope that when we come for the third time, Jaimie will be able to cycle well and even better, willing to try roller blading. :)
p/s: WG happened to be at ECP at the same time too but we didn't meet each other.

陪“陛下”踏脚车是这样的。
最初是背快“断掉”;接下来等孩子会骑得挺快时,就轮到我们的脚快“断掉”。

Pic of Clement on roller-skating cracks me up! haha!

Hmm.. back-paddle brake bicycle? Wah....... i so "mountain-tortoise" k, neber heard of wor... but i figure that this braking system would frustrate any new biker lor, cause it's a norm for newbie to back paddle. The common hand brake is good enough and usually kiddo's bike is smooth and easy to brake. :)
