The Moment in My Life -- Presenting my book to Mayday

It was 0015hr when the concert ended.

I quickly made my way to the instructed meeting place by the working personnels from Rock Records. Togther with me were 50 other lucky audience who had an envelop taped to the bottom of their seats and they would be taking a group picture with Mayday.

When I saw the PR from Rock Records, I went up to identify myself. She told me to stand aside as I did not belong to the queue she was trying to get the people in line. After standing there like an idiot for some time, I decided to join back the queue as I was afraid that she might have forgotten me.

She pulled me out again and I was escorted to the sofa to wait instead. I swear to you ALL the other fans who were queuing looked at me in puzzlement and envy. My heart was beating 2x the normal speed and I felt like crying again. The moment I had been dreaming and waiting for was going to be a few minutes away! What should I say to them? What should I do? My mind went blank...

Clement was outside the glass door signalling me to be calm and gave me thumbs up as encouragement.

Finally, at 0035hr, I was escorted to one of the dressing rooms in the backstage. I took out the books from my bag and adjusted the ribbons I had sewn to tie the books. Not long after, I heard somebody saying "MayDay is here!" and somebody said "We are now meeting the author of the book first." Before my mind could process those information, I saw MayDay coming in one by one. I was very excited and in awe when I saw them. I shook their hands one by hand and greeted them. The up, close and personal moment with Mayday was finally here!

I told them I was very glad to be able to see them and I thanked them again for their music, which lifted me up, gave me strength to overcome the darkest times in my life. I nearly broke down at this point but I quickly recomposed myself. I bowed to them sincerely to thank them.

MayDay congratulated me and encouraged me. I gave their personalised copies to them but the PR did not capture that moment. After that, the PR from Rock Records snapped 2 pictures for us and I had to leave after that.

As far as Clement and myself are concerned, we think that MayDay is an extremely talented band. Their music is inspirational and their on stage performance is spirit lifting.

My meeting with them was probably 2-3mins but I shall remember it for life.

MayDay will always have a special place in my heart.

Angie, comparing meeting Mayday and appearing LIVE on TV..which one is more nerve wrecking? :)

Angie said...

Honestly, I was not nervous at all when i was TV but people said I looked so. Probably because I do not know where was the camera and how/where to look. if you talk about heart beating faster... nah.:D

Meeting Mayday wasnt nerve wrecking too. it was just a very very special moment and I was trying very hard to remember every little detail. :D
