I was told by the cleaner at my work place that I should not throw used paper in the bin placed inside my cubicle. I should throw them in the recycling bin instead.

Kindly advise me on what kind of rubbish should go inside the bin in my cubicle.

Funny right? Wonder what you can throw inside and what is the bin for. Perhaps you can tell them your bin also collecting recycle items too.
What my friend did in another government sector is she get 1 plastic bag and put whatever rubbish inside and throw in the big rubbish bin by herself. She say soon the cleaner will be go out of job...Opps 8)
You can use it to "ta pian"! Then the cleaner will be very happy. No paper, no plastic in your bin! Problem solved!
okay.. if you refer to here and adopt a similar policy, then basically your bin can be used for for misc rubbish like metallic stuff, food, tissue, etc.

Cos I saw a tv program say that they actually classified what rubbish can be thrown away on a specified date like maybe monday the rubbish truck only collect plastic item,tuesday collect only paper item etc.

No lah!!! Just a super lazy local. She has totally no sense of environmental friendliness. Everyday she used the FIRE HOSE to spray water on her ONE mop to clean it so that she can save her energy to rinse the mop. the water used is enough for me to mop my house 10x.
