Jaimie's 3rd Day in Childcare Centre

Little Jaimie isn't doing to well in school today, as expected.

In the morning, she was reluctant to leave por-por's place for school. When my mom finally got her to change and Clement drove them to the centre, Jaimie said that she wanted to go to the playground instead of going into the classroom.

Jaimie spent about 4 hours in the centre today. She only didn't cry for the 1.5hrs when they did dance and movement. Other than that, she was crying all the way. Mdm Aw told my mom that she cried quite hard and vomitted out her lunch. Jaimie wasn't crying when she was eating porridge. She only cried when one of the kiddo's grandma insisted on going into the class to feed her grandson during lunch and that triggered Jaimie to miss us. When she saw por-por coming to fetch her, she cried very hard and clinged on to por-por dearly.

When we asked her about school, Jaimie refused to talk much about it. She deliberately didn't want to answer us when we asked her "did your teacher teach you this-and-this?" "Will you sing this song for your friends tomorrow in school?"

First day isn't the most difficult part. Like Wolfgirl said, the novelty has worn off. And our little friend realised that school isn't as fun as imagined without papa and mama by her side.

Sigh. We need to steel our heart and help her get over this phase as soon as possible.

Yes, steel your heart and hang in there! Things will get worst before it gets better.

Apart from separation anxiety, next to watch out will be sickness. Both my kids fell sick when they were into their 3rd/4th week in cc. Hope Jaimie can pass this phase quickly.

Yes Jae has realised this new childcare arrangement is going to be permanent and not used to class routine yet as opposed to home she can do anything anytime she wants

Hang in there

She WILL be fine, as you probably know already. But the process is heart-breaking nonetheless, as all of us parents know. Jaimie's "pattern" is like Faith's (sart sart for 1st two days before crumbling), so it probably means that once she crosses this hurdle, she'll be loving school to bits. All the best.

Though I yet to send Cherr to CCC, can understand it is heartpain process initially. Surely Jae will get over this phase. Give her time to adjust and things surely be better. Hang in there..
