Kuncheong-Mama

Jaimie will be attending childcare in 2 weeks' time. Worrisome-mama has heard enough stories of children falling sick very often after they have started to go to childcare centre hence she decided to pump up Jaimie's immune system with some the health supplements.

There was orange flavoured cod liver oil she bought yesterday. Smart-mama bought a small bottle to try out first in case Jaimie rejects it. As usual, drama-mama used her super excited tone of voice to tell Jaimie she bought some really cool stuff for her and it is called "cod liver oil". Jaimie walked right into her trap and demanded to try some of this cool stuff. Wayang-mama pretended that it was out of reluctance that she was giving some of this orangy stuff to Jaimie. Because "supply is low and demand remains constant" hence "price is high". Scarcity makes the cod liver oil a delicacy to Jaimie.

Kiasu-mama walked past GNC today and remembered her good friend, Wolfgirl, introducing colostrum powder to her. Wolfgirl's precious Rain Renee has started to go childcare at 18mths and her loving-mama attributed her relatively clean bill of health to the ChildLife colostrum ($77.50) powder which she gave her. So Kiasu-mama decided to follow suit. The health product consultant advised lazy-mama to add 1/4 teaspoon of the colostrum powder to Jaimie's milk everyday. Kiasu mama being Kiasu and Kiasi at the same time, asked the sales person in GNC about other products to prepare the little one for the viruses and bugs Jaimie is about to battle with when she goes to childcare. The consultant is a mother of 2 herself and she highly recommended this herb called "Echinacea" ($28.95). This is supposed to be very good in boosting a child's immune system but it is not advised to give it everyday. We can give it on alternate days or as and when we remember or when the child looks like she is going to catch the flu bug. Just add 5-10 drops of Echinacea into the milk. She advised that Echinacea is a herb which children might get immune to it's goodness if given too much. So there is really no need to give everyday.

Shopaholic-mama was informed that if she purchased 3 different health supplement items during this promotional period, she is going to earn double the points and she could use the points to offset the next purchase. It didn't make sense to a shopaholic not to purchase a 3rd item to enjoy this offer. Hence, she picked up a box of multivitamins gummy bears ($27.95).

All the items were on 20% discounts and money-smart mama saved a total of more than $25!

kuncheong-mama knows that all these health supplements might not be able to help much but she is hoping that they might help a little. It's really heartaching to see the little one falling sick.

Looking after a sick child at night and going to work the morning transforms kuncheong-mama to a zombie-mama.

Anxious-mama is going to meet the Principal for the childcare centre this Friday afternoon to hand in the cheque and all the other documents which are required. Jaimie will need a new bag and water bottle and other stuff to start school.

Mama needs to go shopping!!

Is colostrum really effective? In that case I am going to try for Vince too. He got fever every month.

Another suggestion is to add the powder to small amount of water spoonfeed or teaspoon of rice so that our darlings do really consume all that concentrated amount.

If you add to a full bottle of milk and Jamie cannot finish, all that powder will be wasted
