More Bento Shopping @Daiso

Weekend is so sweet especially after a long and hard week at work.

Saturday mornings are usually spent doing housework, exercising, having brunch with Clement while Jaimie spends time with grandma and grandpa. This morning Clement and I did housework together and we skipped the exercising (hooray!!) and went to the Hong Kong Cafe @ IMM for brunch. The cafe is located just outside Daiso so it is only right that we go to Daiso after that.

I spent $62 in Daiso together buying a lot of, erm, I confess, unnecessary stuff. But I do get some interesting bento making tools too! I found the same bread cutter HappyPig got from Tokyo in her recent trip, MORE nori punchers, some onigiri wrappers which I think I will not not use because they are too cute (!!!) and other miscellaneous stuff (which I already had but I am just buying more... for what? I don't know!!! Don't ask me! It's retail therapy!!).

I need to make more bentos with my new accessories and stuff lah. I have been lazy and making the same simple stuff everyday to bring to work. Meanwhile, I shall continue to shop.

I totally understand the NEED for therapy on weekends.

Hi Angie,

You can always "sell off" this items at discounted price to all the Bento's mommies who are new and are clueless what to buy..hehe: P

Like dat you still can con't to buy and yet no need to store too many things..WIN-WIN situation.

yes I agreed retail therapy is the best after a stressful and tiring week. Last week I also spent $40+ on bento accessories only at Daiso and I'm only beginning to make simple bento for myself n snack bento for my gal.

which section of Daiso are these found? I'm always lost inside Daiso n spent too much time searching their corners, haha... I only managed to spot the lunchboxes the other day.

elaine,

They hv a bento section. it's near the lunchbox area. :) i guess you are too distracted with the other stuff during the search! it happens to me all the time. and i end up with a lot of unnecessary stuff in my basket.

Hi Angie,

Me Sherlyn, went to your Bento session at the CC last weekend (sitting next to the projector).

Wao, you are so hardworking preparing bento daily? MY boy studies in the afternoon and I prepare snack box, and Letty that day say best to keep food below 4 hrs, so think bento will not really work well with my boy. Perhaps serve meals in bento. keke.

btw, you have very interesting ways of naming your sections in your blog, and since your book is in mandarin.. can I assume you speak mandarin more often? :)

I am also looking for the sandwich cutter for a long long time liao (that will use up ever inch of bread right?) but I did not see it when i went Daiso (also IMM leh, erm .. u stay west? then next time can meet up lor kekeke) .. think must look again.

Will pop by your blog on and off :)

Thanks for the sharing that day.
