Jaimie's Second Swimming Lesson

All geared up, Jaimie was still reluctant but more agreeable to go for her swimming lesson today. I think Clement was the one traumatized yesterday (hahaha!!) and he had a runny nose today so it's my turn to accompany Jaimie into the water.

The photo in my previous post did Mr Lee injustice. True enough he looks like Mark Lee but he isn't at all nasty. The first thing he did was to ask Jaimie to show him her kicks. Jaimie did well! Her legs went up down up down rhythmically and Lee was satisfied. He corrected her kicks and Jaimie followed his instructions quite well.

Then, Mr Lee taught Jaimie the kicks for breast stroke. There are 4 actions altogether and she had to remember and do them correctly at his cue. Jaimie did quite well too! At least she remembered what to do with her legs when Mr Lee said "one", "two", "ready" and "three".

After a few rounds of practice, Jaimie became all teary again but it wasn't as bad as yesterday. I keep giving her a lot of encouragement and praises and ...

... pour away the tears in her goggles.

Next, breathing. Blowing bubbles in the water. Jaimie didn't suck in the water from her sobbing. Quite good.

She's more than happy after the 30mins lesson. Her next lesson will be on next Saturday. I think she'll be even more prepared and not back to square one, I hope! She was playing with Chloe's buckets yesterday at the pool and loved it. So I dug out the buckets we bought for sand castle building (ie, only used twice) and let her enjoy herself after her lesson.
We told her she will only get to play with the buckets next week after her lessons and she agreed.

I am sure she'll be fine after a few lessons. It's just so funny to see how she's behaving in the pool now. :D

hahaha, Jaimie is so brave! I think she certainly enjoyed her 2nd swimming lesson. I am very keen to have swimming lessons for Chloe, but is it too early for her to learn swimming now?

Grace, i dont think it's too early. i think i heard from somebody tt as long as they are able to listen and follow instructions, they can start the lessons.

Levine, thanks!:) i am positive about that too!

hey I think jamie is doing very well for the 2nd time to a "impromtu" swimming lesson that her parents sign her on. haha.

But really, she is very good! Wait till you see Ezra take his swimming lessons (hopefully will get to let him try when he turn 4). hehehe. ;p

Is obvious Jae is good in water. Maybe she is not used to swimming with a crowd or peer pressure yet hence the crying but I thought it is unlike her character to be so shy.

Anyway do be careful of her if "drinking" too much water from the pool due to excessive crying and possible leading to vomitting.

Jaimie is gonna be xiao fei yu soon!
Well done girl.
I think when Jaimie knows how to swim, my boys would still be hanging onto their swimming board. *eyes rolled*

Is that a thermal suit?

That picture of her with buckets on her head is hilarious.

So nice of the instructor to do a one-on-one..

Can't wait for our girls to compete against each other...

wolfie: yes, it's a thermal. quite expensive ($70) so i decided to get a bigger one so that it can last longer. :p there's always waiting time during swimming lessons so we thought the thermal suit will keep her warmer when she waits for her turn.
