Enjoying NDP 2009 part 2 -- The Pledge Moment 8.22pm

These future leaders of Singapore...

were brought to the gathering by their patriotic mommies...

and even more patroiotic daddies...

to Joyce's house to do the pledge moment at 8.22pm together.
This is the food ration for the party.

There are 10 important things which we learnt tonight.
(1) Do you know which are the 2 animals on the Singapore crest?
Ans: The lion and the tiger.
(2) What does the tiger and the lion each symbolise?
Ans: Malaya and Singapura.
(3) Which animal is on the left and which is on the right?
Ans: Left-- Lion, Right-- Tiger
(4) Why is this so?
Ans: Because MALAYSIA IS ALWAYS RIGHT.

(5) Which animal is mentioned in our National anthem?
Ans: cheeta. (Cita-cita kita yang mulia)
(6) What is the national flower of Singapore?
Ans: Vanda "Is Joking".

(7) What must you do when you sing the National Anthem?
Ans: Stand in attention and do not look around, even if the guy standing behind you is very good looking.
(8) What do most children want to be when they grow up?
Ans: Whatever it is, don't ask them this question in front of a cake with lighted candles. All they want to do is to blow the candles and cut the cake. They cannot think beyond that.

(9) How to be mistaken by your very own children and friends for more than 3 times in a party for another friend?
Ans: Wear red on National Day.

(10) What is the most fun thing to do when watching the NDP on TV?
Ans: Message a friend who is not at the party but at the NDP to tell them you see them on TV! To make it more convincing, tell them you saw them wearing RED tops!

Enjoying NDP 2009 part 1.2 and 2.1 -- Just for Record purposes

After the zoo trip, we went home to take a rest before meeting up with my in laws in my brother in law's family to take a family portriat. 8th August is also the wedding anniversay of my in laws.

On the 9th August morning, we met up with Nic and Ayden to catch the movie "Up" @ Jurong Point. Jaimie was totally engrossed in the movie while munching on popcorns.

Enjoying NDP 2009 part 1 -- Trip to the Zoo

The National Day celebration for our family began on the 8th August (in fact, 7th Aug for Clement and YS as they went for karaoke from 11pm-3am). We went to the zoo with Nic's family and YS and Sera. Shelley was at home taking care of Shermaine so she wasn't at the zoo with us.

Beware of buayas, girls.

"Run if you see a buaya coming!"

"Hey! I am no buaya!"

How many times must I tell you I am NOT a Buaya!!!
The girls had some boy issues with Ayden and they decided to ostracise him. Hmmm...

The wet playground in the zoo was really fun! The children had a great time there.

Lunch after the playground session. The girls finally decided to let Ayden be part of their clique.

She Has The Playground To Herself

I haven't been clearing the pictures in my little camera (which is getting a little old and outdated, dear hubby) (*BIG HINT*) and I found these pictures I took on the 28th July 09. Clement and I both took childcare leave to spend a day with Jaimie.

We went to IMM but the playground was closed for a private function. Jaimie was so disappointed that she cried and cried as we carried her away from the apologetic security guard. We promised her that she would have the same fun in another playground --the rooftop playground @ Lot One. True enough, Jaimie was so happy to have the entire playground to herself! Hmmm... actually, I didn't think she minded if the playground was crowded or empty. But Clement and I were happy that we could sit down and relax while watching the little girl having fun.

Jaimie was playing hide and seek, dashing through the "water curtains" (花果山水帘洞??) and doing aquatic yoga... she had so much water fun that she had a runny nose the next day. Hahaha~~

Happy Birthday Seraphine!

It's Seraphine's birthday yesterday and we booked the mini function room at our condo for her to hold her celebration. The little princess is 5 years old!!!

Sera has always been one of Jaimie's favourite jie-jie. That evening, together with some other kids, they all went wild running around the places.

Some of my top friends-- Dawn and Pam.
And another top friend, who is the happy mother of the birthday girl, Shelley, joined in the picture. So difficult to find time to get everybody together. Must take one more picture!

Clement's top friends.

Happy 5th Birthday, Sera! May you grow up to be a beautiful princess who loves and has plenty of love!

Everything here is left over from a buffet dinner except the fruits! :)
