A Night With MayDay

It was 3.30pm. Clement and I were ready to drive to Stadium Green for the MayDay concert we have been looking forward to for a long time. We reached there about 4pm and as expected, there was a queue already. We wasted no time in joining the queue after taking a quick picture.

Idy and Irwin joined us shortly after. And we spent the next 2-3hours chatting again. It was quite sunny at 4pm but it was quite breezy too.

However, the sky looked a little threatening at about 5-6pm. Be it rain or shine, we would brave the weather and rock with MayDay anyway!

Clement wore this tshirt initially but we loved the tshirt designed for their 7th album so we each bought one.
And our friend changed into it immediately.
and he was extremely happy about it.

We ate our dinner when we were queueing...

Looked for my fellow colleague and MayDay fan-friend...

And took more pics with Idy and Irwin.
Finally, we moved into the grass patch at 6.30pm. All of us dashed forward, hoping to get a good spot. We were not very far from the stage.
We waited, and waited. The sky turned darker and darker...

Finally, the moment we have been waiting for arrived!!!!

I need not elaborate more on their performance and the excited night which the fans shared with MayDay. It was a 2.5hour concert and we were enjoying ourselves, singing, screaming, rocking and dancing away with their old and new songs. I have written my personal thoughts about the concert in Chinese over here.

We were famished when the concert ended at 10.40pm. On our way home, we stopped by at Mr Teh Tarik for a supper.
Their official concert for 2009 will be on 29 August 2009. We have gotten the tickets already.
We cannot wait for it already!
MAYDAY!!! ROCK ON!!!!!

Retail Theraphy

*chanting* Clement will not be able to read this post.... Clement will not be able to read this post....Clement will not be able to read this post....Clement will not be able to read this post....Clement will not be able to read this post....Clement will not be able to read this post....Clement will not be able to read this post....Clement will not be able to read this post....Clement will not be able to read this post.... Clement will not be able to read this post....

After settling some business in school, I headed to Cityhall for retail theraphy since I was not feeling exactly fantastic.

To cut the long shopping story short, here's a list of things I bought today:
(1) undergarments -- $220
(2) 4 pcs of clothes from Womb -- $350
(3) 2 packs of clothes hanger -- $2.20
(4) 2 sets of cooking toys to top up Jaimie's exsiting set -- $12
(5) charity ticket -- $10
(6) ABC biscuits -- $1

I would have bought more if not for time constraint.

Ohhh... I just remembered I had another theraphy session a few days ago! Or was it yesterday?
(1) Chinese sum-foo set for CNY -- $120
(2) a pair of white pants (my pants are all falling off, remember??) -- $49
(3) Hello Kitty bag -- $30
(4) Toy cooking set for Jaimie -- $14.90
(5) A new water bottle for Jaimie -- $6.90
(6) Miscellaneous rubbish from Daiso -- $14
....

that's all I can remember for NOW...

Anyway, I met Idy in Raffles City. This is so funny. Either I do see her for at least 3mths or I see her 3 times in a week. A picture is a must to commemorate this meeting. My self-portrait-ing skill is not bad, yeah? Idy was going to meet Irwin for lunch while I was making my way to Novena to meet Clement for lunch.

I can't believe how distracted I was. First, I hopped on board the first train I saw in Cityhall and realised after a few stops later that instead of bringing me to Novena, it was bringing me back to the West. I slapped myself on the forehead and hopped off the train and then pat myself on the back for remembering to transfer to the right train in Raffles Place. I alighted a few stops later and the surrounding looked unfamilar to me. At the control station then I realised that I was at Newton station, not Novena. The journey from Cityhall to Novena actually took quite some time because of my stupidity.

Well, it must be because I was high on shopping, lah.

What I really want to say is, SHOPPING THERAPHY WORKS WONDERS.

Conman Daddy

We went to West Coast Plaza for dinner and to our surprise, it is probably the only shopping mall which has not replaced the Xmas decorations with CNY decorations. So we quickly snapped "The Last Xmas Deco of 2008" picture.

First family picture in 2009. I'm sorry. I was still in tshirt, jeans, slippers, short hair and no make up...
In Thai Express...
Daddy: Jaimie, I have something really nice for you, do you want to eat it?
Jaimie: YES!!
Daddy: It's called LIME. I saved it just for you from my Phat Thai.
Jaimie: Thank you!!

In MOF...

Jaimie: I WANT! I WANT! I want this, this, this!
Daddy: Hmmmmmmmm.....

Daddy: Jaimie, this sundae is not nice. Don't try it.
Daddy: No, no. no. This red bean paste is not nice too. So are the peaches.

Daddy: Oh, the apricot tastes terrible. Don't take the muah-chee. No, not the rice balls too. Not nice, not nice. I will eat them instead.

Daddy: Nah, take this. This tasteless kanten jelly is good for your health.

Jaimie: Only jelly is nice?

Daddy: Yes, you only take the tasteless, I mean, NICE jelly. Daddy will eat everything else, which is not so nice.

Jaimie: Papa, I love you! You are so nice to me!
Daddy: Of course, dear. Slurp. BUUURRRPPP.

My resolution for 2009: 等待出头天

Diana had new year resolutions every year. I just read about her latest one.

I never had any new year resolutions or even if I had, I would forget what I had resolved to do by the first week of January.

2009 didn't start off quite well for me. In fact, I was kind of expecting a rough year ahead because the year of the Ox is not too good for me, according to the horoscope. I am not a superstitious person and I do not rely on the horoscope to make every decision. I usually just take the warnings a little more seriously and remind myself to keep cool if/ when bad things happen.

This is my song for 2009:

在我的天顶 甘有人会看见 (In the sky above me, will somebody see)
看到我不甘愿那样过一生 ( that I am not willing to lead my life like this)
在我的一生 我甘愿来相信 (I am always willing to believe)
每一朵花都有自己的春天 (That every flower will have its spring)
在我的天顶 大雨落未停 (The heavy rain did not stop pouring above my head)
嘛未当改变我的率直 (But that will not change my stubborness)
永远等待那一日 (I will wait for that day)
咱也当出头天 (The day that I can hold my head high)
人生不惊风浪 (In life we do not fear tidal waves)
只惊自己没志气 (We only fear the lost of aspiration)
那一日 咱会冻出头天 (When that day arrives, we will hold our heads high)
我向往的日子会很快来到阮身边 (The day which I desired will come to me quickly)
在我的天顶 甘有人来保佑 (Is there anybody who will protect me)
为怎样我常常摔到头壳流血 (Why do I always knock until my head bleeds)
血甘会结痴 (The blood will clog up and the bleeding will stop)
失败嘛不失志 (We may be rejected but we must not feel dejected)
成功是咱自己看自己的天 (Success is how we look upon it)
漂浪的日子 等待着时机 (On the days of we wander, we wait for opportunities)
我不信命运这样无情 (I do not believe that fate is so cruel)
永远等待那一日 咱会冻出头天 (I will forever wait for the day we can hold our heads high)
人生不惊风浪 只惊自己没志气 (In life we do not fear tidal waves, we only fear the lost of aspiration)
那一日 咱也当出头天 (when the day arrives we will hold our heads high up)
我向往的日子会很快来到阮身边 (The day which I desired will come to me quickly)

That is a very rough translation of the lyrics. Yesterday when I was listening to the song, I sobbed uncontrollably. Every word which Ashin wrote touched my heart so deeply. I can't really speak Hokkien but I will make sure I learn how to sing this song!

MAYDAY ROCKS!!!!

I am very blessed to have a very very supportive and protective hubby who will embrace me with his strong arms and shield off every evil force that comes in my way. Thank you, dear. I love you.
